Ok, we’re getting more and more convinced that the key to success in Japan is to offer as many ‘limited edition’ versions as possible as BMW and MINI are offering one of these every month apparently. The most recent one to be offered is the MINI Jermyn, an individual model that is limited to 180 units.
The car is claimed to have been designed specifically for the Japanese market and brings bespoke options to the table that, to be completely honest, you could get as part of the MINI Yours program (the equivalent of BMW Individual if you will).

To go into details, the MINI Jermyn gets a set of 18-inch wheels and is painted in what the Brits are calling “Lapis Luxury Blue,” a beautiful hue if you ask us.

Since we’re discussing the exterior, we should also mention that the doors have LED projectors on them that will show everyone you’re driving a special MINI once you get in or out of the car, projecting the name of the car on the ground.

You’ll also notice that the idea that Chrome is a ‘premium’ material is alive and well, the car receiving the Chrome Line Exterior option as well.

Inside the cabin, you’re greeted by the Union Jack motif here and there. The Nappa leather upholstery is something you don’t often see inside a MINI and it’s complimented by dark aluminum stitches that stand out due to their color.

Unlike other special models that are usually based on entry-level cars, this time, MINI went for the Cooper S as the starting point. That means we’re dealing with a car that has a 2-liter 4-cylinder mill under the bonnet good for 192 HP and an automatic 6-speed gearbox which proves to be the more popular choice these days (what a weird world we live in!).

By now I’m pretty sure you’re wondering how they came up with this name. Well, the MINI Jermyn was inspired by the Jermyn Street in the Mayfair district of London. Still drawing a blank? That’s where a lot of high-end stores are located, catering to every need a proper gentleman might have.

Prices for the MINI Jermyn start at JPY4,110,000 which translates to roughly $34,100 at the current exchange rates.
