Kawasaki announces that new orders are being taken for the Ninja H2 supercharged bike launched in November 2014. While this is, of course, good news for a lot of riders who dreamt about bringing an H2 home but missed the occasion, KHI's decision may cause an adverse reaction from the early customers.
That is because Kawasaki advertised that the Ninja H2 was going to be a limited edition hyperbike, built to order in a very limited window of opportunity.
Even though the price of these bikes was nowhere near affordable, (€25,000 for the H2, double for the R suffix), the Kawasaki official said that he knew of people who would buy those bikes with cash right then and there, if any were offered.
Despite the excellent prospects, Kawasaki was firm that only a small number of motorcycles will be manufactured and sold on a first come, first served basis. Customers who wanted one should place a deposit with their local Kawasaki dealer and wait for delivery in the spring of 2015. Between the 4th and 18th of December 2014, Kawasaki had the first customers making deposits for priority delivery, with the remaining bikes being put on a waiting list.
Likewise, no Ninja H2 or H2R would be present in dealerships, with the bikes, however, touring extensively in motorcycle shows around the world. Like it was expected, the machines sold out pretty quickly and (almost) everyone was happy.
Still, Kawasaki is now taking more orders for the Ninja H2, and the new customers asked to make a deposit between April 7th and April 21st. The new orders are for the H2 solely, with the H2R track beast apparently maintaining its initial "limited edition" status.
The new batch of Kawasaki Ninja H2 is expected for delivery in late May or in June this year. No mention on how many bikes will be up for grabs, and we'd rather be reserved in guesstimating anything until more news surfaces.
