Kawasaki Ninja H2 and H2R Prices Confirmed

Round prices announced for Kawasaki’s latest weapons in the hypersport class see the new Ninja bikes offered for less money than initially expected. Now, don’t expect the Ninja H2 or the Ninja H2R to go for the same price you’d get a liter-class CBR, but they are not really sky-high as some of us feared when the wraps have been pulled off them.

So far, we have the official prices for the US market, together with those for the Italian fans. However, we believe that Kawasaki will maintain the latter price tags for most of the countries in the European Union, possibly including the UK.

$25,000 for the street-legal Ninja H2

The Kawasaki Ninja H2 will be sold in the US with a $25,000 price tag which is consistent with what most of the people have been expecting. On the other side of the pond, the street-legal version of Kawasaki’s supercharged bike has arrived with a €25,000 euro price tag, which is definitely one thing we saw coming. Still, the prices may vary because of various local import taxes and other expenses which come with distribution costs, strategies, and last but not least… customer benefits, maybe.

Double price for the track-only Ninja

The track-only Ninja H2R was announced with a $50,000 price tag. This is really good news, as the latest estimations for the price of the H2R saw the bike sold for a price which would range between $55k and $65k.

It is yet uncertain how many of these bikes will be manufactured and how many of them will reach in certain markets. At EICMA 2014 we talked to a Kawasaki official and he said that the house of Akashi is planning to sell 100 H2 and H2R units, altogether. It is uncertain yet whether these figures represent what Kawasaki plans for 2015 or these 100 units are the whole extent of the new Ninja family.

It looks like the Motorcycle Live show in Birmingham on 22 November is the place where Kawasaki will announce the official prices for the UK. We will try to find out more on this and bring you more news on how many Ninja H2 and H2R are expected to roll on the streets and tracks around the world.

It will be interesting to see how the Ninja H2 will perform against the rest of the superbikes out there… Seeing it on par with a BMW HP4, Panigale R should make a lot of guys want to own one, and we might just get to see Kawasaki under some pressure as far as the H2 production is concerned.
