Keanu Reeves endorses Kevlar-lined motorcycle jeans manufacturer by the small British company Maple. Funny thing, Maple Motorcycle Jeans is a small, niche type of business, just like Reeves’ Arch Motorcycles. The combination of the two however, looks like a most promising enterprise and when such things occur, it’s a win-win situation.
The fact that Keanu Reeves is an avid motorcyclist is not exactly news, and even the fact that he is actually building custom high-end motorcycles is no longer a subject for the front page. The start-up company he’s involved in together with his friend Gard Hollinger is called Arch Motorcycles, and the first units of their KRGT-1 machine will soon be delivered.

Reeves as Maple unofficial ambassador

Dave Fairbairn, the man behind Maple Motorcycle Jeans has no idea on how did Reeves learn about his products. “I don't know how he heard about us but he wanted all his riders to wear our jeans. I jumped straight on a plane and went to Los Angeles. I saw a great opportunity there," he tells the Telegraph.

Fairbairn adds that Reeves plans to use his Maple jeans in all the marketing and promotional materials related to the new Arch KRGT-1 motorcycle. So Keanu Reeves is not happy to refrain to being a successful actor, he’s also eyeing a career in motorcycle building and he plans to intertwine it with motorcycle safety activism and why not, a dash of fashion trend-setting. Sounds like his life is quite interesting, doesn’t it?

British-made premium jeans offered for wholesale prices

There are a lot of jeans manufacturers out there, but Maple believes that most of their prices are way too high. That’s why Maple Motorcycle Jeans opted for a direct buy approach, allowing them to cut the middle man and offer their products for lower prices.

Maple manufactures their selvedge jeans in the UK form 13.5 oz denim. London-based designer Satish Tailor was also co-opted into the team, to add the stylish factor to the functional one. Maple makes armored jeans with DuPont Kevlar lining which withstand abrasion a much longer time than casual jeans do. These jeans also come with special invisible pockets for Forcefield CE-approved knee and hip armor which can be bought separately.

Of course, if you just want to look premium without paying premium, you can always choose Maple’s casual, non-Kevlar jeans. Maple Motorcycle Jeans is also present on Kickstarter seeking funding and offering discounted prices for their apparel. Xmas is not that far, so maybe you could make some amends to your shopping list while daydreaming about your first ride in the spring.
