With the Guangzhou Auto Show ready to open its doors in China, someone decided to leak on the Internet this curious concept vehicle from South Korea and it isn’t half bad. It’s rather... Germanic.
No really! Just look at the headlights and try not to think about how similar those are to the Porsche Cayenne’s and Macan’s to a certain extent. Published by Terranismo, the pictures below also reveal a Porsche-inspired streamlined hood design.
There are lots and lots of LED accents both at the front and rear, as well as tough visuals as the satin silver lower valance. Still, don’t think for a moment this lil’ bugger is anything more than a softroader.
Even if the rear looks too much as that of a Hyundai, the front fascia retains some specific Kia cues. Only the tiger nose front grille finished in satin silver and the Kia badge up front reminds you this subcompact crossover vehicle is a Korean car, not something that came out of Germany. According to the previously mentioned source, the Kia KX3 Concept will see production life.
Slated to start assembly sometime in 2015, the KX3 will reportedly make use of 1.6-liter and 2-liter mills from the Hyundai-Kia alliance. As for other oily bits, a six-speed manual should be offered as standard, while an auto box and all-wheel drive should come as optional extras.
UPDATE: xcar.com.cn was at the unveiling event and we updated the photo gallery with live photos.
