About one month ago, Kia announced it will use the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as an opportunity to reveal the Picanto facelift. They kept their word and the city car received the promised nip and tuck job, just ahead its official debut in Switzerland.
The facelift Kia had in store for the Picanto affects both the exterior and the interior, but we can’t really talk about major design changes. Instead, the 2015 Picanto comes with an updated so-called ‘tiger-nose’ grille, along with slightly redesigned front and rear bumpers.

There’s more in the exterior design department as Picanto can be ordered with a new 14-inch alloy wheel design and an optional sports pack, probably the icing on the cake when it comes to Picanto’s refreshed identity.

The interior is all about accents, colors and customization. As you’ll see in the pictures, the Picanto received new chrome accents, textile upholstery with new pattern and three interior color packs - Red Pack, Yellow Pack and Brown Pack, allowing customers to personalize the car as they please.

In addition, Kia installed its AVN system, which is basically a 7-inch display that holds the interface for the audio, video and navigation systems.

According to Kia officials, the 2015 Picanto received larger brakes which help the car reduce it’s stopping distance by 2 meters, which is quite a lot to be honest and makes us wondering why was this measure taken only for the facelifted version?

Anyway, the 1.0-liter MPI engine powering the bug has been revised to meet the latest Euro 6 emissions standards. Kia did not mention anything about a new engine, although we should expect to see the 1.0-liter TCI unit good for 106 HP, already available in Korea. We’ll keep you up-to-date with more information as soon as the car makes its official debut during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Stay tuned!
