LaFerrari Wrecked in Shanghai by What Looks Like a Chinese Teenager

China has a lot of billionaires, so it's not surprising that quite a few Ferraris have been sold there. But we never expected somebody to give the super-expensive LaFerrari to a kid. After all, the 963 hp hypercar offers absurd performance that regular drivers can't deal with, plus it belongs on a track, not in traffic.

Normally, you have to own a certain number of other Ferraris in order to be eligible for LaFerrari ownership. They made only 499 units, and each costs more than a million dollars in America. By the time they reach Chinese customers, some cost over three times more.

Three photos emerged earlier today on Autogespot. They show how a red model has been completely wrecked on a highway somewhere near Shanghai. Damage has engulfed the whole front end, the rear bumper, rear suspension and probably a lot of other places we can't see.

What happened? Well, the road is extremely wet, so the rear-wheel drive machine probably spun out of control and hit the guard rails multiple times. The airbags have been deployed and in one of the photos, a young kid with neon shoes and glasses can be seen.

We don't know what he's thinking at that precise moment when the photo was taken, but it's either that he will have the best Weibo photos of all time (#YOLO) or that his father will ground him and take away his supercar privileges. Either way, the LaFerrari will have to go back to Italy for some TLC.
