LaFerrari Drifting on Monza, Watch the In-Car Footage

Yesterday, we showed you the LaFerrari drifting on Monza, with the footage being captured by a car that was chasing the Prancing Horse. Now we’re back with a new POV clip, which shows us exactly what happened inside the Ferrari during the LaDrift.

The dance was performed in third gear - everything started with the LaFerrari easily pulling away from yesterday’s camera car, a Ferrari 458. The drivers floors it, albeit in a controlled manner, redlining the thing at times. As you can imagine, the V12, together with the electric zing, send the hypercar violently sideways, so the driver has to get serious with the countersteering.

The slide continues throughout the bend, with the 963 prancing horses making an excellent job at roasting the rear tires.

Interestingly enough, the entire drift was performed in the “CT Off” Manettino mode. This means that while the traction control was put to sleep, the electronic stability control was still on (you can deactivate that by putting the little red switch in the “ESC Off” position).

Then again, this is the usual business with Ferraris, as we’ve sampled during our F12berlinetta or 458 Speciale reviews.

The LaFerrari driver also lapped Monza without the sideways giggles

When you drive a hypercar that costed $3.4 million and is now rumored to trade hands at up to double that price, one sideways corner is enough. Having crossed this off the list, the LaFerrari driver also set off to lap the Monza track in a less smokey manner.

We have a second clip that shows the LaFerrari devouring everything on the track. There was plenty of traffic along the route, which is why the driver didn’t attempt a hot lap. Racing driver excuse or not, we have to admit watching the unfair battles is rather entertaining.

Before you hit the "play" button(s) below, we'll remind you we're still waiting to see TaxTheRitch drift the LaFerrari outside the track.
