Guess who decided to join the party. The all-new Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster made its world debut at the 2015 Quail Motorsports Gathering in Carmel Valley, California on August 14th.
We’ve shown you the official pictures already, but now we have a couple of videos shot by supercar fans at the event. Just like its coupe brother, the SV Roadster looks like the work of a tuner who wanted to make it more aggressive.

This is an easy car to figure out. The main difference between it and the coupe is that the roof is made up of two removable carbon fiber panels. And while the world is getting 600 coupes, only 500 SV Roadsters will b made, each costing more than $530,000.

The goodies under that sculpted rear engine deck remain the same. There, a 6.5-liter V12 engine resides and will deliver 750 PS and 690Nm (509lb-ft) of torque, according to the Italians. In true exotic car fashion, the 0 to 60 time has been shaved down to just 3 seconds. With the roof in place, the top speed is identical at 350 km/h (217 mph).

The SV twins share all their mechanical hardware, including the adaptive Magneto-Rheological Suspension, pushrod damping system and Lamborghini Dynamic Steering (LDS). The 7-speed IRS gearbox and all-wheel drive system remain the same.

Thanks to strict diet of carbon fiber, the Aventador SV Roadster boasts a dry weight of 1,575 kg (3,472 lbs), making it 50 kg (110 lbs) lighter than the “average” Aventador Roadster.

But let’s forget all about the numbers and ask ourselves one question: what is this car all about? It’s about having fun and fresh air, while redefining what an Italian exotic means. It’s also about having one of only 500 cars like it in the world and painting it smurf blue.

Editor’s note: Wait, is that James May behind the wheel?
