Spring is not the only reason we’ve been waiting for March. If there is something we’re sure you too have been hitting the refresh button on LEGO’s website for then that thing is the brand’s new Speed Champions collection. Yes, the perfect combo of the world’s best hypercars McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. These and a lot more are now officially available.
As promised, the family-owned company based in Billund, Denmark has just released the long awaited new series that brings some of the world’s extremely craved for racing cars to the people. Sure, Formula 1 cars have been seen before in all sorts of scales, with most of them being built by fans all around the globe, but these series are quite unique considering the brands put together in the sets.
Since not everybody is a hypercar fan (really?), LEGO took good care to fulfil everyone’s desire for speed so they also added a Ferrari 468 Italia GT2 racecar, a pair of Porsche 911 with a start-finish line scene, a Ferrari F14T Formula 1 car with a transport truck and, of course, a McLaren MP4-29 with a pit stop scene.
Now, depending on what you like more, the brick maker is offering both the collection with cars and drivers together, and the one that includes the entire scenes. You can also get each car separate if that is what you want.
Judging by the pace people already bought the new series at, we’re guessing they’ll prove to be one of LEGO’s most popular collections. And we say it's totally worth it.
