While BMW is busy fighting Mercedes and Mercedes is busy fighting Audi, Lexus is slashing prices and winning customers. Sure, they might not have turbo engines, but they do have an interesting design at a time when all the other companies are afraid to be bold.
Just look at the Lexus IS, which can be yours for about $37,000, about the same as a mid-grade Mercedes CLA-Class. The 3.5-liter V6 model is that that cheap, but it's still cheaper than the Germans, which left this owner plenty of cash to make is sedan look different.

We showed you the first 2015 Lexus IS on custom wheels within a week of the launch. But this one looks even more interesting because it's finished in the same shade of yellow as the Lexus LFA. You know, the only supercar Toyota ever built in very limited numbers.

The banana-mobile is fitted with a set of CV3-R wheels, measuring 20×9 in the front and 20×10 in the rear. They didn't mess with the design and went with a simple, elegant five-spoke design that lets the IS's F-Sport body kit draw all the attention.

A discrete body kit has also been installed. It consists of a front spoiler lip, side skirts, roof spoiler, and a rear diffuser with two sets of integrated tailpipes. Is this an M3 or something?

The car was given a more sinister look, with those big yellow Brembo callipers showing even more since they used graphite wheels on the car. Pirelli got involved with the project by sourcing the new P-Zero Nero tires for the new VFS-1s.

"This unique background could have been something that Vossen didn’t endorse, encourage or develop, but instead has gone above and beyond to support my passion for a brand that is not exactly known for building the most exciting vehicles. When it was time to build this Lexus IS, we were not asked to do much to it, but maybe lower it, add wheels and present it," they guys at Vossen claim.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
