Puerto Rican Tattoo Artist Turns Yukon Denali into His Canvas

Art Basel is one of the Modern and Contemporary exhibitions we really like... a lot. And it’s not only because we enjoy beautiful work of arts, but for the cars showcased at the event. Whether we’re talking about actual paintings on cars or cool wraps, it’s definitely worth mentioning.

Before it would become David Guadarrama’s canvas, the GMC massive truck first went over at Miami-based Metro Wrapz auto shop to get a proper chrome wrap. After also getting a new pair of Concavo wheels the car was ready to go under the process. As far as we can tell, the Puerto Rican artist used some tribal reasons which he mixed with specific Mexican folk art flowers.

The whole painting was done using black marker pens and we’re guessing it took at least 24 hours. Since we’re looking at cars painted with a pen, we can’t help but think of that 1995 Nissan the owner’s wife literally transformed into an work of art. The car enthusiast, who turned out to be a member of the U.S. Military, decided to ask for his wife’s help to turn the car’s silver color into something special.

Now, we’re dealing with something quite different in the Yukon’s case since the work was done by an actual artist for an actual art exhibition, but you have to admit seeing how many possibilities a pen can offer is kind of cool.

As to the Art Basel event, in case you missed it this year, it turns out it was quite the hit. 73,000 international visitors attended this year’s edition in Miami including artists, collectors, gallerists, curators and art enthusiasts.
