This time the proof comes thanks to a British drag racing event called VMax 200 that saw a Pagani Zonda F racing against a multitude of high-octane machines.
Sure, as you’ll be able to see in the video below, the Zonda F wasn’t the fastest member of the exclusive club attending the VMax - the cars use a 2-mile runway that must cover both the acceleration and the braking phase. But it was definitely the best as far as the spectators were concerned, since that AMG-supplied V12 offered the sweetest soundtrack of the lot.
Then again, you’d expect such a voice from a machine Horacio Pagani built as a nod to the famous F1 champion from back in the day, Juan Manuel Fangio. Even now when the vehicle has been replaced by the Huayra, the Zonda F’s specs remain impressive.
For one thing, its carbon construction is visible thanks to the natural finish of the body. And to keep things on the light side, this Zonda also uses materials such as titanium, Inconel and aluminum. The result? A curb weight of 1,275 kg (2,810 lbs).
