Porsche 911 GT3 RS Drifting on Ice Is Both Shaken and Stirred in Russia

As always, we take pride in providing appropriate answers to questions nobody asked. Ever wondered how Russian gear heads are coping with the country's economic conditions, which seem to get tighter and tighter?

Well, if we are to believe the guy in the clip below, some people's four-wheeled lives are unaffected, despite these guys being less than billionaires. The uploader of the video claims the owner of the 997-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS seen in the footage has sold his house, keeping the track toy and sleeping in the garage.

We're not quite sure about the authenticity of the tale, but if there's one thing that makes this clip worth your time, that's the snow and ice drifting.

The GT3 RS is used as a sideways snow plow, and while the speeds at which the Neunelfer is hooned aren't exactly impressive, we have to admit this is something you don't get to see on a daily basis.

With the engine in the traditional 911 position, you might expect this Porsche to go out of control easily, but we mustn't forget we're talking about a GT3 RS here. This is the kind of Porsche that comes with a racing suspension.

At least while traveling at moderate speeds, this 997 makes for one hell of a drift machine. Then there's the superb flat-six soundtrack, which deserves plenty of credit for the fun factor provided by this activity.

We're dealing with a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated boxer here, one that can rev all the way to 8,400 rpm, with the unit allowing the driver to control 415 hp.

Just in case you're wondering why somebody would leave a GT3 RS out in the Russian winter, do keep in mind that the man's garage is reportedly not big enough for both the car and its owner sitting on a bed.
