I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. One reason for which I adore driving Porsche is that these machines twist and bend their internal organs in order to adapt to the driving conditions.
Last time I head about that, Frank Herbert was describing the way in which Bene Gesserit Reverend Mothers adjust their metabolism to cope with poisonous substances.
However, while Porsche might be some sort of secret engineering society aiming to steer driving humanity towards the ideal racing line, they also have to explain their ways.
For now, the Zuffenhausen people are focusing on the chassis technologies that are a widespread offer throughout the 911 range. To be more precise, we are talking about PTV Plus (Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus), the Sport Chono Package and PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control).
To demonstrate their effects, three 911 Carrera S models were unleashed onto the carmaker’s Leipzig home track. The progress of the trio is monitored through the lap and while the various benefits might seem small to the eye, you can see the actual difference they make in the lap times.
From behind the wheel, these systems make a world of a difference - as the 911 has the engine at its back, the systems’ effect becomes clear once you push the Neunelfer past the limits.
