Porsche Track Day in Taiwan Is like a Rear-Engined Yoga Session

With Porsches, discipline is the kind of driving concept that follows the "what comes around, goes around" principle. To be more precise, while Zuffenhausen machines show tons of self-control, they require the same thing on the driver's side.

As a result, when we look at a piece of official footage showing a Porsche track day event in Taiwan, what we see is a rear-engined yoga retreat. Allow us to correct that - while most of the cars serving the 66 owners present on the track were 911s, four-door models, as well as more than one unit of the all-mighty 918 Spyder, were present as well.

The session took place at the Penbay International Circuit. Inaugurated back in October 2011, the track is 2.1 miles (3.53 km) long. And the Porsche stint, which took place last year, wasn't the first time when the VW Group officially set wheel on the track. For instance, the circuit has also hosted the Asian Lamborghini Super Trofeo Blancpain. But that's another story for another time.

Now, let's get back to the Porsche activities we're here to discuss

Returning to our Zuffenhausen affairs, the Porsche customers were treated with the typical hospitality of such events. Sticking to the discipline theme mentioned above, we'll list two activities that fit this pattern.

From being greeted with a bit of a military parade to also using the facility's karting track, the guests were constantly reminded of the need to keep things under control while enjoying the finer side of life.

And the Porsche clientele taking part in the event certainly got to taste the uber-delightful side of motoring life. For instance, the experience explained here also included synchronized drifting moments, a practice that requires the ultimate mix of discipline and adrenaline.

And that's one way to describe the manner in which Porsche does what it does, from design to driving courses.
