The pickup truck world still had one month to wait until Ford would launch the actual 2015 F-150 when the Power Wheels motorized toy came to give our children a preview of what the 13th generation of the workhorse could do for their parents.
While one of our editors reviewed the Power Wheels Ford F-150 earlier this month, we didn’t have four units sitting around to try to see if they could support the life-size truck, which is precisely what Fisher Price is showing us right now.
Before we discuss the toy maker’s feat, we have to explain our review was carried out with the help of the man’s two-year old daughter, whom we all hope will grow up to test actual cars.
Now, Fisher Price managed to show that a quadruplet of the plastic versions supporting the 4,150 lbs (1,88o kg) of the F-150. Yes, Ford may have played with aluminum, saving up to 700 lbs (318 kg), but the plastic models still required custom racks in order to handle the task.
It’s only natural for the best-selling vehicle in the US to get a proper children’s version and we’re glad to see the little ones learning their way around a vehicle in this manner. We just hope we see the other colors quicker - so far we’ve only dealt with Blue Flame examples.
