The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster drama begins even before you actually slot into its driving seat.
Seeing the car on a misty morning waiting for you on a narrow, twisty road with its scissor doors open and its shark nose is guaranteed to get your blood pressure high. Getting behind the wheel and switching on that 5.4-liter V8 engine won't do anything to help either.

And then you set off, gently at first, showing the deserved respect to a car that's been built with just one goal in mind: to be driven. It's like a pure-bred horse, a single-purpose vehicle that excels at what it does. It may not be the fastest around a track, but it sure will be the most fun and engaging drive

The barren dashboard is an active reminder of all that. You're not there to relax, listen to music or enjoy the scenery - no, you need to drive and you need to give it your full attention. Its dated looks can't hide the fact that it's an old car, but rest assured that in 50 years’ time, people will be talking about the SLR like we are referring today to the SL 300 Gullwing or something. It has "future classic car" written all over it.

And this lucky man got the chance to drive it, but he was also kind enough to wear a camera while doing it. We need to appreciate his effort as it clearly wasn't a particularly warm day, and yet he ventured for a ride with the top down. Not that any warm-blooded human being would have been able to refuse the chance to drive such an iconic car as the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster on a technicality like the poor weather.

The sound and the sense of power are purely fantastic, but we'll leave you to enjoy them first hand. Well, not really first hand, but you know what we mean...
