Qatar Drag Racing Shop Goodies: From World's Fastest V6 to 2,500 HP Big Block

Remember the kind of surprise you had when you found out Australia, not the US, is the world's reigning nation when it comes to burnouts? We are now here to stick to this outside-America octane trend and for this we'll take you to Qatar.

To be more precise, the footage below allows you to take a quick tour of the Al Anabi Performance shop, with this being one of the top teams in the Arabian Drag Racing League.

Now, before we move any further, we have to explain that, while ultra-fast contraptions are regulars over there, we can't say the drag racing machines they use are faster than the ones in America.

There is one exception, though, and that's the world's quickest V6, a 540 ci behemoth that can show many V8s who's boss. Nevertheless, since this motor animates a Corvette, many will probably be tempted to file the whole story under "sacrilege."

Then again, it's not like the team doesn't pack its fair share of V8s. For instance, one of their most ferocious motors is a nitrous-fed big block that can deliver 2,500 ponies.

However, while the team does rely on American mechanics, their rides are far from being limited to US machines. When it comes to European metal, a 997-generation Porsche 911 GT2 that has been dialed all the way to 1,300 hp has to be their top car.

As for the Japanese rides, the GT-R is obviously king, but these guys seem to be more into earlier machines than the R35 that currently dominates the American GT-R scene (we've talked about the world's fastest Godzilla on multiple occasions, as the records fall more often than shady stocks these days).

The Supra also gets the kind of extreme build attention it desires. And since we're talking desert stuff, you should also expect to see dune buggy matters, but not the cozy kind.
