If you’re not familiar with Qoros, this is a Chinese-Israeli automaker established in 2007. Although the brand has a long way to go in terms of recognition and worldwide dealership network, Qoros is preparing to launch its third model after the 3 Hatch and Sedan.
Before we cover the upcoming 3 City SUV, it’s necessary to point out that the VW Golf-inspired Qoros 3 may be a Chinese made car, but guess what - Euro NCAP crash tested it, with the Qoros 3 becoming the first ever Chinese vehicle to get 5 stars from the agency for the protection it offers.

The Qoros 3 City SUV then. That’s how the manufacturer calls a new model it will bring to the 12th China International Automobile Exhibition aka the Guangzhou Auto Show. To be unveiled on November 20th, Qoros says the 3 City SUV crossover has been “designed for a more premium metropolitan lifestyle,” but it’s also a capable machine at both “urban cruising and country driving.”

From the teaser shot offered, the Qoros 3 City SUV looks both rugged and chic, but we’d hold our breath regarding its capability without a proper test-drive. Qoros also tells that 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity are there, as well as QorosQloud connected services. The latter is a suite of systems that offer detailed sat nav traffic information, social networking capability and other tech-savvy paraphernelia.

Anything else? Without any other hard info available at the moment, our two cents go on mechanicals related to the 3 Hatch and Sedan, albeit with added skid plates and maybe an all-wheel drive system. As for firepower, don’t expect more than two variants of a 1.6-liter engine with 126 or 156 HP, respectively.
