When it comes to the supermini segment, Europe is mad about the Ford Fiesta and Renault Clio in particular. Regarding the latter, the fourth generation of the quirky B-segment hatchback spawned a very hot model in time for the Geneva Motor Show.
After the French manufactured teased us with a picture that depicts an alloy wheel branded RS, the rumor mill started flooding with “It’s a more hardcore Clio RS.” For once, the rumor mill was right on this one. Ladies and gents, it is a pleasure to present you with the first ever photo of the Renault Clio RS Trophy.

Leaked recently by Worldscoop.forumpro.fr, the French automotive forum’s cardream66 highlights in his post that “this is what I found on the Clio Trophy 4. The first photo is from the page of the Geneva show.”

Though the decals and alloy wheels differ between the two pics, it's a given the Clio RS Trophy is coming.

After all, even Renault tweeted a week ago that “We are on the road to #TROPHY with #RenaultSport #Renault #GIMS #Geneva.” With these being said, what should we be expecting from an even more extreme Clio than the Clio RS 200 EDC Cup we tested?

On the aesthetic front, look forwards to flared wheel arches, a deeper chin and bigger arse for improved aerodynamics, as well as visuals inspired by the Megane RS Trophy and the Trophy-R. In terms of oomph, some hint that the EDC dual-clutch auto will be ditched in the favor of a six-speed manual.

All in all, there is but one sure shot detail to expect: more than 200 HP and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of twist.
