Roland Sands Design Debuts BMW R nineT-Dedicated Aftermarket Parts Line

Roland Sands has been among the first bike builders/modders who have gotten the chance to do their bidding with BMW’s R nineT roadster when the bike was launched. However, RSD and the Bavarians go back a long time, and to say that their collaboration was fruitful would be an understatement. We’ll only remind you the sweet Concept Ninety one-off machine Sands built for BMW’s 90th anniversary.

The collaboration paid off one more time for both, as Roland Sands Design launched a dedicated line of aftermarket add-ons for the R nineT which has received the official “blessing” of BMW. If you ask us, this seal of approval only makes them more expensive; RSD has always produced top-notch stuff and it’s hard to believe that the latest R nineT parts were somehow different without BMW’s OK.

More parts coming soon?

As BMW says, the RSD R nineT parts will now become available to more riders worldwide. This means that these parts will be available for purchase in BMW dealerships around the world, which is a massive step up for Roland Sands. Whether all BMW dealers will carry this line is still unknown as the Germans also mention “participating BMW Motorrad dealers”. Still, we can believe that RSD parts will be present in each dealer which has sold at least one R nineT.

So far, the range only comprises an engine breast plate, valve covers, oil filler caps, the so-called flat out Enzo seat, a gauge housing, a headlight bezel, rear axle plugs, plus several more parts. Whether Roland Sand’s range of R nineT aftermarket parts will be extended is yet unknown, but seeing the offer growing into a Rizoma-like line-up would indeed be trick.

We can hope that BMW decides to launch more customizable machines in the future. We are having a hard time picturing a guy spending money on RSD parts for his R1200GS instead of going SW Motech or Touratech. You can follow the link to see the Roland Sands R nineT aftermarket parts, and start figuring out how to save money for the end of February when these parts become available in the BMW Motorrad dealerships.
