Rolls-Royce Motors has just announced a new series of free live exhibitions to start in November at Saatchi Gallery, London. Called “Inside Rolls-Royce” the event will take fans through a multi-sensory journey through the exclusive engineering, design and craftsmanship, providing new levels of insight into the remarkable lengths required to create the eccentric cars. After four days, the exhibition will travel through the major cities around the world throughout 2015.
Rolls-Royce’s new marketing venture involves a sort of connection between the car itself and fans worldwide, through a different approach that is supposed to brake the boundaries. In other words, the company is stripping their cars, showcasing every detail of their luxury models as they travel different stages of manufacturing.

Nine rooms, nine stages

Each of the nine rooms at Saatchi Gallery will focus on one key aspect in the creation of a Rolls-Royce motor car. The first room brings the company’s palette of 44,000 paint colors to life through a digital display. Moving into the second room, visitors will see a flying sculpture evoking a hallmark Rolls-Royce feature, the in-door umbrella. In the next room guests will have the opportunity to configure their dream Wraith, then race against friends or compete for the best lap time.

Meanwhile, fans will also get to meet with expert craftspeople from the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, who will demonstrate and explain their very particular and highly sought-after skills over the course of the exhibition.

Among the virtual experiences, visitors will also be offered to go through a process that transforms themselves into the iconic statuette that adorns every Rolls-Royce car. A video wall captures and emulates the movements of each guest through a beautiful and luxurious light particle animation.

Rolls-Royce invites fans to touch their wood

Somewhat strange, yet interesting, fans are also invited to literally touch the natural wood from all over the world that adorns the interior of the company’s models. According to the press release, visitors are encouraged to feel the extraordinary walnut burls, each weighing more than 100kg (221 lbs), which will dominate the next room of the Gallery.

Last but not least, a hidebound sculpture will deliver a new perspective on the other key ingredient of a Rolls-Royce interior, which is the leather. This life-size leather-clad speed-form allegedly demonstrates some of the skills involved in creating a beautiful interior.

The exhibition will run from 13 November to 16 November and will be open between 10am to 8pm. There is no entrance fee what so ever.
