Royal Enfield Continental GT Now Available in Black, Too

Royal Enfield announces one more color option for the company’s flagship bike, the Continental GT. Styled as a café-racer incorporating the traditional retro elements Royal Enfield has become well-known for and modern design cues, parts and technology, the Continental GT was so far only available in either red or yellow, but now a black livery can also be had.

The black version of the Continental GT will also be exported in all the markets where Royal Enfield has established a presence. However the real cool news is that the black version will be offered at the same price as the other two, despite being undeniably cooler than them. Or maybe are we just too used to forking out a little more for bikes which come in other colors than what the makes initially offers?

A tan seat with contrast stitching adds even more style points

The black Continental GT arrives with a different seat, which is now tan as opposed to the traditional black one. Even more, for an extra dash of style, the stitching is contrasting to add more to the visual appeal of the bike. The dual piggyback rear shocks are still equipped with yellow springs and nothing was changed technically.

This means that you’ll get the same 535cc air-cooled injected thumper with a 29 hp peak power @ 5,100 rpm and a 44 Nm (32 lb-ft) torque at 4,000 rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission and with both electric and kick starting. It’s definitely way too little in terms of performance when compared to other bikes in the western markets, but if you feel like riding a classic, getting a new Royal Enfield Continental GT is not expensive and comes with a good deal of two-wheeled fun.
