When your office is a pursuit vehicle, you know that every second counts. When the bad guys are on the run, the action is go. When you hit the lights and it’s all business, that is when performance matters. Staying true to its “speed matters” slogan, Mustang tuner Steeda came up with what is probably the ultimate police vehicle in North America.
Cue the 2016 Steeda Interceptor Mustang. Under the hood of this pursuit-rated muscle car lies a 5-liter Coyote V8 engine upgraded to 490 horsepower and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) of torque. The surplus of performance is attributable to components such as a cold air induction system, adjustable heavy-duty engine mounts, as well as a severe-duty automatic transmission cooler.

With great power comes great responsibility. As a consequence to this, Steeda’s Interceptor Mustang package includes ceramic brake pads on all four corners. When the going gets twisty, the Steeda Interceptor suspension package should do the trick. Only available to authorized agencies, the American tuning company also offers plenty of optional extras for their V8-powered pursuit vehicle.

The most important of them all is a Whipple 2.9-liter supercharger system. Together with a high-flow cold air intake and a cat-back exhaust, the supercharged Steeda Interceptor Mustang churns up to 777 horsepower and 655 lb-ft (888 Nm). You’ve heard that right, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

Further optional equipment comes in the form of a severe-duty IRS half-shaft upgrade and a Stage II suspension pack. Agencies can opt for two lighting packages: the high visibility LED pack for marked vehicles and the discrete LED pack for unmarked cars. As for the two-tone vinyl color wrap of the marked Steeda Interceptor Mustang, agencies can choose from four available packages: doors only, roof only, doors and roof, as well as doors, roof, hood, and decklid. Mind you, the unmarked version is more ominous.

On an ending note, it would be a hassle to get a lawbreaker in the back seat.
