Yesterday we showed you what happens when two tuned cars go at each other’s throats on a completely flat drag strip. Back then we were talking about a 690 HP RS6 and a 600 HP M5. Well, this time we’re looking at a stock Audi going up against the BMW.
The main difference lays in the fact that the four-ringed company is now represented by an RS7 instead of the RS6 Avant of yesterday. The thing is, under the skin, they are both the same car, sharing everything, from the engine to the transmission and even suspension.

The four-door coupe uses the same 4-liter twin-turbo V8 as its more ‘practical’ brother, with the output rated at 560 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The gearbox is the same 8-speed ZF-sourced unit that is marvelous at doing its thing while the output is shared between all four wheels thanks to the quattro all-wheel drive system.

From a standstill, the M5 would’ve been in trouble, even though it has more power than its rival here. That’s because, in typical BMW fashion, the M car is rear-wheel drive and grip is hard to find when you have so much grunt to keep in check.

Luckily for the Bavarian, the race is done using a rolling start and that favors it not just because of the tune but also because of its faster 7-speed DCT gearbox that helps out when margins are so close. According to the video description, the Bimmer has a Burger Motorsport stage 1 tune along with a revised air intake and exhaust. That should grant it a little over 600 HP at the wheels.

Considering all of this, the result of this particular drag race is not surprising at all.
