While the battle between Chevy and Ford is a slab of America in itself, the fight involving manual and automatic trannies has only recently began to make full drag racing sense, with the torque converters becoming sharper than ever.
Both duels are deliciously showcased in the clip below, which shows us what happens when a C7 Corvette with a supercharger kit is pitted against a Mustang GT500 with bolt on mods.

We’re not sure about the output for any of the two, but we’re expecting them to sit at around 700 horsepower at the rear wheels. For one thing, the video description explains the GT500 features full bolt on mods.

The battle of the transmissions, one with a weird take

Then there are the trannies - the soundtrack of the video lets us know the ‘Vette is gifted with the 8-speed auto (we won’t call this one a slushbox, since it doesn’t deserve it). The “Stang is obviously here in manual form (the only one offered) and later in the clip we get to see a rather awkward intimate moment involving the Mustang driver and his Tremec manual box.

We won’t give you the exact details here, but all we can tell you is that a third party is involved, namely a flipped bird.

Sure, there will be enough voices claiming the C7 driver wasn’t all that deeply involved in the action on the strip, but times are changing and we have to accept that.
