After getting pulled over for speeding and charged for driving under the influence, American Swimmeing champion Michael Phelps decided to take a brake, to attend a rehab facility. The most decorated Olympian of all time was pulled over by police for going 84 mph in a 45 mph zone on Tuesday.
Things seem to be pretty bad for the famous swimmer who recently posted a series of Tweets letting his followers know that he is taking a time out to concentrate on himself. Not only he was charged by police for driving under the influence, but reports are the champ also has some gambling problems, as he was actually spending several hours playing poker before the moment he was pulled over by police.
“The past few days have been extremely difficult. I recognize that this is not my first lapse in judgment, and I am extremely disappointed with myself. I’m going to take some time away to attend a program that will provide the help I need to better understand myself. Swimming is a major part of my life, but right now I need to focus my attention on me as an individual, and do the necessary work to learn from this experience and make better decisions in the future”, Phelps tweeted.
As opposed to those celebrities that usually don’t really care about what people think about their lifestyle, it would seem sportsmen live quite the strict life. To be honest with you guys, we believe people as successful as Phelps should get some fun time every once in a while, without actually feeling bad about it…
