Now that we covered most of what was worth talking about at the Geneva Motor Show, the time has come for automakers to take some proper care of the Motor Show’s visitors. And what better way to do that other than having petrolheads driving the latest models in line right on the spot. We’re not referring to drive testing the cars, of course, but the next best thing closest to that.
The idea that virtual reality is getting closer and closer to our hearts and our homes is no big news to any of us. Since we’re spending each day in the autoevolution world here, we could care less for some eyeglasses you wear and that transcend you in some sort of perfect virtual world. Yet using this device to drive the horsepower monsters, now that’s when you get our attention.
Lamborghini is playing this card for the 2015 Geneva Motor Show as they are offering visitors the chance to experience their beautiful newborn using Samsung Gear VR.
Designed in partnership with the Oculus Drift makers, folks will have the chance to use the gadget to be transported into a “sure-fire, exhilarating dimension which will make them feel as if they are really driving the Lamborghini supercar, immersed in the sounds, colors and images as if it was the real thing.”
The first mode that will be available is the Sport version which according to Lamborghini, implies a route full of bends along the cliff edge of the Amalfi Coast, a stretch of coastline on the southern coast of the Sorrentine Peninsula in the Province of Salerno in Southern Italy.
Other exciting contents will then be made available: Strada, a journey to discover the wonders of the town of Amalfi, and Corsa to experience the thrill of speed and the Imola racing track and feel like a real professional racing driver.
