SCG 003 Is Faster than Porsche's 918 Spyder Around Nurburgring by 15 Seconds!

The guys from Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus were serious when they said that their creation will be shooting for a lap time of 6 minutes and 30 seconds around the Nurburgring. The first results are encouraging as their SCG 003 just purportedly lapped the famous track in 6 minutes and 42 seconds, obliterating the previous record set by Pagani with their Zonda R by 5 seconds.

Not only that but the overly-hyped Porsche 918 Spyder, a car that is as amazing as they come and has over 50 percent more power than the SCG 003, is no less than 15 seconds slower on the Green Hell. The amazing facts don’t stop there though.

According to the company, the car that posted this lap time wasn’t even their most hardcore version. As a matter of fact, it was racing with restricted power, weight ballast on board (for racing purposes) and street tires. Keeping that in mind, the 6:30 lap time seems doable with the proper gear.

That claim is also what Koenigsegg is going for with its Agera RS model. The difference is, the SC 003 has only 530 HP and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) of torque coming in from the 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo Honda engine. The Swedish car, on the other hand, has a 1,160 HP at its disposal, more than twice as much. Both of them are incredibly light for their power figures, being made mostly out of carbon fiber.

So, if the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus was able to pull this stunt off, imagine what the Agera RS will be capable of once it hits the world famous track.
