SEAT Leon Cupra ST Gets Wide Body Kit from JE Design

While SEAT's line of hot hatchbacks is one of the widest of any company, the Spanish carmaker has lost its aggressive touch. Before, you could only buy the Leon Cupra if you liked big subwoofers and wore your hats back-to-front. However, the 2015 models are about as subtle as a pair of body-colored stockings.

Fortunately, specialist tuner JE Design has the cure. You know how some shirts make you look like you've just been to the gym? Well, this is the automotive equivalent of that, a wide bodykit.

It's just been fitted to the Leon Cupra ST, coincidently the fastest SEAT to ever lap the Nurburgring. The good news is you don't need to have an ST to enjoy the proposed look since similar kits fit the Leon FR SC, Cupra hatch and even a basic model with a 1.6 TDI.

The Cupra ST has been fitted with a three-piece bumper attachment set, beefy front and rear wheel arches and side skirt add-on elements that bring a carbon fiber look without breaking the bank. At the back, we see a complex diffuser element for the rear apron. The kit can be yours for €6,200.

Oh and let’s not forget about the twin tailpipes at the rear, which come in a 100 x 85 mm size and quad design. If you still have money left in the pocket, you can also install a set of 19-inch alloy wheels with Dunlop Sport Maxx GT, adding another €2,050 to the cost of your project. Note that the prices above do not include installation and painting.

Since this project is the centerpiece of JE Design's stand at the Essen Motor Show, it would not be complete without a substantial power boost. The 2.0-liter TSI turbo engine can be re-mapped from 280 to 350 PS. Torque is up as well, from 380 Nm to 400 Nm (324 lb-ft).

From 0 to 100 km/h, the super-wagon from SEAT is still slower than the VW Golf R Variant, taking 5.4 seconds. However, the speed limiter has been raised to 280 km/h, so you will eventually show it who's the boss.
