One the deepest niche products of the VW Group, the diesel incarnation of the Skoda Octavia Combi vRS, has just gotten a bit more hermetic with the help of tuner mcchip-dkr, which has released a program for the warm family mobile.
It all starts under the hood, where the 2.0-liter TDI engines receives an ECU remap. The unit delivers 184 hp and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) when it leaves the factory, but the values were upgraded to 215 hp and 415 Nm (306 lb-ft).
The extra grunt can be yours for EUR849, with the tuning house explaining the new instructions for the ECU do not affect the fuel efficiency of the TDI unit.
You can also upgrade the Octavia vRS Combi’s connection to the road. A set of sport spring that bring the car 30 mm closer to the road is offered for EUR179/ Furthermore, the estate can be gifted with a set of 19-inch wheels. These feature a concave profile, a multi-spoke design and come in a Black finish.
The wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx GT rubber, which comes in a size of 225/35 R19. You can have them for EUR1,590.
The Combi and the diesel treatment only come to make this even more of a niche product and if you’re willing to tune yours, you can by pretty sure the chances of meeting somebody with a similar ride are pretty slim.

Think about it, the sheer idea of a performance model coming from what is supposed to be a budget brand with German engineering is a bit unusual. In fact, Skoda has also tried the vRS recipe with the Fabia and has abandoned the idea after disappointing sales.
