Skoda Uses Eye-Tracking Webcam Tech in 2015 Fabia "Fight for Attention" Promo

Here's something nifty that the autoevolution team has just discovered: a special website called www.fightforattention.com, created by Skoda in order to promote the Fabia. It uses the webcam integrated into your laptop or PC to track the actual movement of your eyes across the screen and tell you which of the two Fabias they are showing got most of your attention.

The video we've imbedded into our article below shows two new Fabias, one metallic blue with a white roof and the other white with a black roof. They've even made a monster out of a forklift and hired a cartoonists to portray the cars at the bottom of the ocean in a style similar to the wacky Spongebob series.

My score said that I looked at the white Fabia for 90% of the time. White is a trending car color, right? But I thing the video is to blame, since more of the cool graphics are on the right (arrows, monsters and such). Still, this is big-budget advertising and we have to commend Skoda for doing it. Ever since the Fabia 3 was launched, I've been getting the feeling that this isn't a car you buy because it's cheaper (it's not any more), but because you like Skodas.

For instance, a full-spec Fabia is probably better looking and equipped than the equivalent SEAT Ibiza. The interior is also slightly posher than a VW Polo, which is something I don't has ever been said before. And let's not forget that behind the posh paint and the black alloy wheels, the Fabia still has the biggest and most practical boot in its class, plus about 9 centimeters of extra elbowroom.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
