In case you actually thought only carmakers have sports celebrities promoting their models we’re going to have to ruin this one for you. It might not be as overwhelming as the automotive industry, but the tic-tac world comes with a lot of shades of abundance. And where there are tonnes of cash to be spent there will be fame involved in a way or another.
Honestly, what’s with all that green in the background? Why would anyone want their custom, limited edition timepiece to look so grass-like? These questions might pop into your mind, yet there is a reason to it. Let us expand.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Cristinao Ronaldo limited edition is the fruit of the collaboration between the renown footballer with the luxury watchmaker. It’s something the two have been working on ever since CR7 became brand ambassador for the Swiss, about two years ago.

Based on the Formula 1 Chronograph, the new model has a black and green color scheme to evoke the green of the football pitch (soccer if you want to keep things accurate). According to TAG Heuer, the green flange, matching the hands and the indices, strikes a bold note against the black checkered dial. The white TAG Heuer and the CR7 logos which can be clearly identified are also supposed to add a necessary hint of brightness that will catch the eye.

It hits the market in July

The strap also comes with its fair share of green and black NATO, which match the rest of this limited edition timepiece. “Directly inspired by the nylon straps used by the British Army during the Second world War, it is ultra-resilient and sits perfectly on any wrist,” the Swiss claim.

Furthermore, the keepers, buckle and pin are made from 316L stainless steel and both the ends of the strap and the buckle holes are laser-cut. The Cristiano Ronaldo designed timepiece comes with a black bezel, coated with titanium carbide and bears the chronograph’s tachymeter scale.

Priced at CHF 1,450 ($1,515) in Switzerland, the CR7 Formula 1 timepiece will reach the market this July so you’d better start saving.
