Terrorists Air Car Is a Chinese Alternative Lego Set You Get for Cheap

Since Lego only has copyrights on the sets they make, anybody on this planet is allowed to create their own bricks. As a big player in the toy industry, China has several companies currently manufacturing alternative Lego sets. We stumbled upon one particular model, that is named "Terrorists Air Car" set, which we found quite intriguing.

The vehicle resembles the home-made creations of Libyan and Syrian rebels, which is most likely where the toy maker has got its inspiration from. It includes a four-wheeled vehicle with a four-barreled anti-aircraft gun and an evil looking man with a beard. The box even comes with detailed features similar to what real life artillery has: guns with a 14.5 millimeter that can fire 600 rounds per minute, with a maximum range of 1,500 meters.

Even though some parts are rather unique, like the turret, it would seem most of the bricks are fully compatible with Lego ones. Instructions are perfectly clear and understandable and it took seven minutes for the fellow who bought it to build the Terrorists Air Car.

Apart from the obvious fact we’re talking about a terrorist toy-set, there is also another thing about it that stands out, which is the price. According to the folks over at Car News China, who bought the evil alternative-Lego set from a local shop in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, you can get one for eight yuan which is about $1.3 at the current exchange rate.

In other words, there are similar Lego sets out there that are a lot cheaper than the Danish ones. The toy is sold under the Gudi brand, which is owned by a company called Xinlexin Electronic Toys, based in Shantou. They’re marketing a lot of other military sets, including tanks and guns.
