The new 1 Series facelift is about to hit dealerships and BMW prepared some commercials to launch it properly. Apparently developed for Germany alone, we got a first sample of what will be showcased in them today, via Youtube.
None other than the world famous Cookie Monster apparently gets involved, this time though, getting something else than his usual meal: donuts. Of course, we’re refferring to drifting and not actual donuts.
BMW even got the 2014 DTM Champion, Marco Wittmann to star in the ads, doing some (what else) donuts with the new 1er while the blue monster sits in the passenger seat, still asking for it.
Of course, the new ads focus on the fortes of the new model. The 1 Series Hatchback is the only car in its segment that has rear-wheel drive and we’re hoping it will remain the same until and after the end of production.
Other new featured on the 1er include the LED headlights, new iDrive system that gets a bigger standard screen and more stock kit altogether (like automated air conditioning).
Some of these are featured in a second commercial, also starring the Cookie Monster. In it, he is basically desperate to find some cookies and uses the Concierge services from the ConnectedDrive suite to find some. It’s all good and fun but we forgot to mention that you need to know German to understand these two commercials. Well, at least the last one as the one with Marco is pretty straightforward.
