The Stig Races a Team of Norwegian Skiers in a Tuned MINI Countryman to Promote BBC

The Top Gear scandal might be over, as the dynamic trio of presenters have ended their contracts with the British Broadcasting Company, but the Stig hasn’t given up apparently. Knowing the legendary driver, we didn’t expect anything else, to be honest, as he’s known to be extremely stubborn.

In his latest adventure, he travelled to Norway to race against a team of four Norwegian skiers on a specially prepared track. Why? To promote the launch of the BBC Brit TV channel in the Nordic country. Unfortunately for him, the team was made up of four champions on different variations of the sport.

First up was Rune Velta, a 25-year old ski jumper that won gold in the 2015 Falun World Championship this year in the Individual contest. Then was the turn of Emil Hegle Svendsen, a biathlon winner of two gold medals and one silver at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.

Third was Therese Johaug that is a cross-country skier and a three-time Olympic medalist at it while the fourth member of the relay team was Terje Hakonsen, a 40-year old Norwegian professional snowboarder that dominated the freestyle snowboarding championships throughout the 1990s.

Naturally, since this is the Stig we’re talking about here, the car he’s driving is up to the task. A modified MINI Countryman of which we don’t have any details at the moment. What we can tell though is that it has the ALL4 all-wheel drive system and a sequential gearbox. Who won? Well, you’ll have to find out all by yourself.
