Barely a week passed since the Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce was launched in Geneva and we adored the pictures and videos of it ever since. The problem is, they were all static, leaving us to wonder if that new wing at the back actually makes a difference.
Well, wonder no more as the guys from Auto Bild TV already got their hands on a fine example and they filmed a couple of shots of it. The best bit is the one in which they actually launch it, leaving us to wonder if this is a dragster or a road-legal car.
Getting down to the numbers, the SuperVeloce is really a different beast compared to the standard Aventador. The car lost 50 kilograms (110 lbs) off its waist and gained an impressive 50 HP out of the atmospheric 6.5-liter V12 taking the grand total up to 750 HP.
That as much as the ultra-rare Lamborghini Veneno that was built in only 3 units worldwide. Now, you don’t have to pay millions for a Lambo that has that much power. Furthermore, the SV is faster that its ugly brother, becoming the fastest car the raging bull has ever made.
How fast? Well, you’re about to see it launch in the video below but we’ll tell you that reaching 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill takes 2.8 seconds and it will go up to a speed of around 350 km/h (217 mph). It’s all possible due to the Independent Shifting Rod technology used inside the gearbox that can actually shift a gear in 50 milliseconds in the Corsa mode.
Of course, all the other traditional tidbits that all Lambos have also apply here, like the all-wheel drive system and the hair-rising price tag. That’s right, did you think this was going to be cheap? Well, it’s not Veneno expensive but at a starting price of €327,190 before taxes, you can hardly call it affordable.
Now, let’s hear that V12 sound and start dreaming about how awesome it would be to actually afford this car...
