Some of us are actual fans of the Taxi franchise, a series of movies focusing on a crazy French taxi driver that used to do all sorts of crazy stunts with his Peugeot 406 and 407 later on. That guy was absolutely magnificent and he introduced us to the license plate trick we’re about to show you here.
It looks like this Ukrainian Passat driver paid close attention to what was happening in those movies and installed his own license plate switching device on his own car.
As you can see in the video below, he’s capable of switching not only license plates but also nationalities, depending on his needs. Considering the situation in Ukraine at the moment, we kind of understand where he’s coming from.
Imagine you’re in a rebel bastion somewhere in the Eastern side of Ukraine. All of the sudden, the separatists decide they won’t let any Ukrainian pass through their territory anymore and start checking cars. What will they look for first and foremost? The license plate numbers, of course.
With his little trick, this guy could actually make a clean break for it. What’s even better is that everything looks like it belongs there. There are no visible bulges or anything like that around the plate, that would give anything away. This looks like a professional job.
As for how legal this is... We don’t have to spell it out for you, right? Don’t try this at home...
