This Nissan GT-R Interior Has So Much Alcantara It Burns Your Eyes

We’re not sure if there’s any Japanese correspondent for Achilles, but the Nissan GT-R does manage to provide a pretty good example for his Heel, with the cabin of the car serving as this. While it’s no secret that Godzilla’s interior falls behind the overall level of the supercar, we’re here to show you what happens when you overcompensate for this.
The cabin of the GT-R in the adjacent image has more Alcantara than we’ve ever seen inside a car and the story with the amount of carbon fiber is not too far from this. Wait, we probably got that wrong - what we actually wanted to say is that there’s a GT-R attached to the Alcantara and carbon fiber in the pic above.

The project comes from US aftermarket developer Bulletproof Automotive, a tuner who handles multiple brands, but this is of little importance here. That’s because when a customer asks for such a thing, there will be at least one company willing to build it.

Nissan pulled such a move itself, but kept things reasonable and used leather

Back in 2011, Nissan addressed the criticism targeting the plasticky cabin of its halo car by releasing the Egoist edition. Among others, this covered the entire cabin in leather. Needless to say, that was a balanced effort which paid out.

Speaking of what Nissan does for the GT-R, the carmaker has recently confirmed what we all expected, namely that the next generation of the car will be a hybrid. While the Japanese engineers work on the petrol-electric supercar, let’s not forget Nissan has one final model year update to introduce for the current R35 generation of the supercar - here are the spyshots for the 2016 Nissan GT-R.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Nissan should milk Godzilla, a car that has come to define the brand, by turning the GT-R into a sub-brand.
