You know how automakers release those slightly boring news about how they donated this, mended that, aided with other stuff and so on? Good for them helping out building a better community, but no one cares about that on an automotive website.
Toyota makes no exception regarding those releases, but the most recent one is the most hilarious we’ve ever seen. And probably the cutest one because it’s about beavers who didn’t want to abandon their home when the automaker settled in.
The story started when the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi begun construction and two retention ponds were created to capture and hold storm water runoff, allowing suspended solids to settle and get discharged via an 11-foot sluice gate.
The battle went on for about six months when beavers continued to come and rebuild their dams, never letting the water drain out properly. Toyota then snapped, gave up and left the beavers do their thing undisturbed.
Now they have a lake there with a lot of wildlife living peacefully and prospering near the factory. There you go, Toyota created both workplaces and animal shelters with one facility.
