Uber has just announced that customers using KLM’s website will now on be able to book a car service, thereby making the door to door journey even easier. So far the service will only work in Europe and customers are restricted to Euros. It’s quite a premiere for Uber, considering until this August, the ride sharing service wouldn’t allow developers to integrate its on-demand transport services into their own applications.
Even though not all the taxi drivers out there are happy about its fast expansion, Uber seems to have no plans in slowing their pace. Through this step it would seem a new chapter is being written, as the car sharing service might just become the biggest in the world in a matter of years.
“Whether it comes to booking your ticket or checking in at the right counter, KLM ensures this will be as easy as possible. And after that, Uber helps you to find your way directly to your hotel in that unfamiliar city,” Uber explains in a statement.
You get EUR30 Uber credit for free
As a promotional offer, customers who will book a KLM city trip until November 11th to one of the 70 European destinations will get EUR30 ($38) Uber credits for free. According to the company, this credit can be used upon arrival at the traveler’s destination or at a different moment that is more convenient.
Not that we don’t like the idea of a service that basically takes care of all the boring part of a holiday trip, but there are some concerns in the industry.

At the end of August, the company had reportedly raised $1.5 billion in venture capital. Following a series of 2014 media articles, in which Uber’s aggressive business practices were exposed, the Salon publication published an article titled “Why Uber must be stopped.”
Its author, staff writer Andrew Leonard, described the car share service as “the closest thing we’ve got today to the living, breathing essence of unrestrained capitalism,” and warned of the harms that will occur if the company achieves a d ”dominant market position in every major city on the globe.”
