Watch a Runaway Steed Named Bernie Being Chased by Two Police Cars

We’ve seen a dog driving a car in New Zealand, a pig jumping from a moving truck on its way to slaughterhouse and even deers invading the streets of a Japanese city. But this video is all about law abiding... animals, and this horse definitely did not respect the rules considering two police cars were chasing it in broad daylight in New York.

The hilarious incident is not a prank, nor is it some sort of 4th of July celebration. Reports are the carriage horse broke loose and stampeded in the West Side, New York after it escaped from its Hell’s Kitchen stable. The horse was being bathed when it left for a Sunday morning stroll up 11th Avenue.

The runaway steed named Barnie is seen running away from to police cars as they try to get a grip on the four-legged animal. Meanwhile, the horse galloped along West 37th Street at about 8:30 a.m. According to New York Post, the animal turned up 10th Avenue, before trotting west on 39th Street and finally getting boxed in by the cops and steered into an empty lot on 11th Avenue.

He’s never done this before,” Bernie’s owner Declan Quinn said, claiming the horse fled the stable when his halter broke, from wear and tear.

We’ve seen sheep eating out of a brand new Range Rover SUV and a horde of deer freely sitting-in on the streets of Nara, Japan. But seeing police cars chasing a horse in New York probably beats all the recent weird animals-cars encounters.
