The idea of creating a documentary about Paul Newman is quite a big deal considering the man is a true American legend. Actor, film director, entrepreneur, environmentalist, social activist, philanthropist you name it, the man has done them all. But what truly interests us has something to do with his racing career.

Paul Newman was not only one of the most prolific and revered actors in the American Cinema, but he also was a gifted driver. He won four national championships as a driver and eight championships as the owner of his racing team. This part of the iconic man's life the movie documents.

As you’ll observe in the trailer, the documentary is built on some impressive testimonials from people like actor Robert Wagner and American racing icon Sam Posey. Robert Redford, Jay Leno and a couple of other celebrities are also invited to talk about Newman and his passion for racing. Even Patrick Dempsey, the actor often compared with Paul Newman for bringing today’s racing into Hollywood, is part in.

The memories, the cars and the atmosphere of old-school racing only complete the list of reasons we can't wait for the movie to premiere. As we said, the Los Angeles screening takes place on April 16 while the film’s full release is scheduled for May 22.
