Yet Another Scion tC Release Series Surfaces, Much Cooler this Time

For about 8 years, Scion had one single coupe on the list, namely the tC. But then came the FR-S (Toyota GT 86) in 2012 and made it look like a silly little brother that can’t even... rear-wheel-drive. Reason why Scion started to pull out a lot of trickeries to make the squarish coupe attractive again via special editions, which may or may not have been applied to the rest of the range.

The Release Series edition is one that does ring a bell more often and it has now reached its 9th edition for the coupe as Scion just revealed a cool two-tone tC Release Series 9.0.

Whether the pumpkin color is a Halloween marketing thing or not, we don’t really care, because it looks absolutely gorgeous in combination with deep gloss black and matching rims as you can see in the pics.

Scion calls the shade “vibrant magma orange” and to make the car even special, it partnered up with Cartel Customs designer Jeremy Lookofky to add in the rest of the details.

The exterior gets a center exhaust, gloss black mirror casings and door handles, a high-profile rear spoiler and blackened out badges. Inside you’ll get Cartel logo push button start, floor and cargo mats, orange front seatbelts, orange stitching and other matching trimmings.

You’ll also ride lower thanks to a TRD lowering springs kit and all will be available for just $23,190 in case you choose the manual transmission version or $24,340 for the automatic, excluding the $770 destination charge.

As with other limited editions, the pumpkin tC will be made in only 2,000 units so contact your dealership starting early next year to make sure you get your hands on one.
