1970 Dodge Charger Returns to the Road after a Long Time, Nearly Gets Crashed in France

We rarely have the occasion to see a Dodge Charger from the Golden Age that’s running outside US borders and this is exactly what we’re here to talk about. This a story about a Charger that appears to be the ’70 model and is now living its late years in France, as shown in the footage below.

Sure, this Mopar machine has seen better days, but hey, at least it’s still running. While many, video uploader included, have rushed to say this is a barn find, we beg to differ. Judging by what we can see in the clip, the Charger is being held in a small garage. This "home" looks like the kind of place whose owners like to hold on to retro American metal, as we can also see a Cadillac.

The clip shows the aged machine getting out on the road after what seems to have been a long wait. We reckon the glorious soundtrack is provided by the good ole 383 V8 (6.3 liters). While the engine doesn’t exactly sound like it’s in good shape, at least it managed to move the old dog around.

Spoiler alert - the clip includes a close call moment, with the guy driving the Challenger showing no common sense whatsoever, which leads to a Renault Espace almost rear-ending the Dodge.

While rebuilding one of these slabs of America would probably cost at least $30,000 on its home turf, having to handle the same job over in Europe makes for a “Quel dommage!” (It's a pity) situation.

And yes, it’s not just the V8 that needs attention. In fact, if you pay attention, you’ll notice the car’s original color seems to be Hemi Orange - this is just one of the matters that would need to be sorted out in order to restore this beast to its former glory.
