After days of speculation and rumors about what exactly will the new Koenigsegg Agera RS bring to the table, we finally get to see the car in all its glory at Geneva and read some specs. The further improved version of the Agera R hypercar now has 1,160 HP at its disposal, a slight increase of just 36 HP, as we expected actually.
The focus, as it turns out, was on the aerodynamics of the car, as emphasized by the new rear wing that utilizes the same technology as on the crown jewel, the One:1. According to the Swedes, ‘everyday usability, luggage compartment, rear window and detachable and storable hardtop are uncompromised’. Yeah...
Other changes focused on improving the sound insulation without adding any weight as well as creating a better, track optimized front splitter that would improve the drag coefficient. Alongside it we’ll also find new front winglets, side skirts, an advanced underbody flap system and the new active rear spoiler that adds even more downforce, 450 kg at 250 km/h (155 mph) to be more precise.
The RPM counter goes even higher while the weight has been dropped compared to the Agera R or S models. If you can get E85 fuel, the output of the 5-liter V8 twin-turbo plant under the carbon fiber will raise to an One:1 rivaling 1,341 HP.
Unfortunately, Koenigsegg tells us that only 25 of these things will ever be made and they already sold 10 of them ahead of the show unveiling. Therefore, the battle is on for the remaining 15.
