Have you known somebody that's so enamored with a particular car brand that it influences every aspect of his life, from what he wears to the shoes he buys? Miami restaurant mogul Gino Gargiulo is exactly like that. Back in 2007, he built a Mercedes boat inspired by his SLR and now he has a Lamborghini fetish that's… taken to water.
Say hello to the only boat in the world designed after the Lamborghini Aventador LP 720-4, the yellow 50th anniversary edition model to be more precise. One of only 50 cars Lamborghini built to celebrate half a century of existance, this baby cost Gino a whopping $750,000 but he still had another million and a bit to spare on a speedboat.
Speedboats are very popular in Miami, simply because there's so much fun to be had with them. However, this one is rather special, powered by a couple of f twin-turbo Mercury Racing 1350 engines and able to reach a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). On water, that's kind of absurdly fast, not to mention scary.
We've seen footage of the boat before, but never realized just how close it comes to matching the Aventador for style. Turned on its side like a 10-ton display piece/trophy, we get to see its awesome yellow and black leather interior. The bucket seats seem like they were pulled straight out of the Aventador and so does the instrument cluster, which judging from all the Audi buttons probably came out of the Gallardo.
To top it all off, a couple of Aventador headlights were stuck on the front "horns" of the boat. You can't actually light the water in front of you in a boat, but they look cool and probably make Gino happy, which is all that matters.
The only thing that could possibly make this any better is if this were powered by 4 Lamborghini V12 engines. We know it's possible, since the rich folks of the Middle East do it all the time. Just saying...
