The U.S. Department of Transportation's vehicle safety watchdog has recently awarded the all-new Chrysler 200 with a 5-star overall rating thanks to the protection this car offers in a crash situation.
Couple this feat with the Top Safety Pick+ status from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety and you will get an idea about how much time and effort has been invested into making the 2015 Chrysler 200 as safe as personal transport can possibly get.

In order to find out how well it fares in a typical crash situation, car safety experts of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration put the model through hardships such as a frontal collision, a side impact that simulates a two-vehicle collision and a side impact simulating the sedan striking a pole.

In addition to the 65 percent high-strength and boron steel body shell, the 2015 Chrysler 200 is also a big passive and active safety technological showcase. It happens to benefit from approximately 60 available safety and security features, a segment-leading feat.

As a prime example, we'll highlight that the full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus package adds alerts and autonomous braking. In certain circumstances, it can slow or bring the all-new 200 to a full stop when a frontal collision appears imminent. Both the NHTSA and IIHS are suckers for such systems, which makes it easy to understand why the 200 was rated an overall 5 stars for the protection it offers.

As a brief reminder, the 2015 Chrysler 200 mid-size luxury sedan starts from $21,700 for the most basic LX trim. That amount of green dollar bills gets you a pretty posh vehicle that boasts with 184 ponies sent to the driven wheels by a nine-speed automatic, as well as an EPA-rated 36 mpg highway fuel economy.
