2015 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack has SRT Hellcat Styling and Great Value for Money

Even though the Charger added two doors to hike its practicality, the iconic nameplate is as enticing as ever. To boot, the 2015 mid-cycle refresh of the current generation is butcher than ever in terms of aesthetics, while the SRT Hellcat is the most powerful, quickest and fastest sedan in the world that's powered by an internal combustion powerplant.
The Tesla Model S P85D took the Charger Hellcat's ultimate sedan crown only recently, but let's be frank here - proper petrolheads would never exchange gasoline bangs over the whisper of an all-electric four-door sedan. But there's a bit of a problem with the Charger SRT Hellcat - its price. $63,995 may not sound like much, but the bulk of potential 2015 Charger customers wouldn't spend that much on a five-seater vehicle.

However, I'm sure most of you would like to have the Hellcat variant's looks without sacrificing too many of your hard earned bucks or too much of the Charger's sporting credentials. And that's where the R/T Scat Pack model comes on the scene. For comparison's sake, a 2015 Chevrolet SS performance sedan, the only similar car in this segment that wears an American manufacturer's badge, starts from $43,475.

The revised 2015 Dodge Charger will go on sale later this year, with deliveries slated for early 2015

But d'you know how big a price difference is between General Motors' four-door Corvette and its main rival from Dodge? Well, let's just say the R/T Scat Pack Charger starts from $39,995 without $995 worth of delivery. Price difference aside, there's also a huge power gap between the two - the SS makes do with 415 ponies and 415 lb-ft (562 Nm), but the Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack boasts with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft (644 Nm) from its 6.4-liter naturally-aspirated HEMI V8 monster.

Of course, that's not nearly the 707 horsepower of the Hellcat, but you can't actually claim it's not enough to roast the rear tires off. But you at least get the same exterior styling as the Charger SRT Hellcat, including the aggressive front bumper, vented hood and V8 burble minus the charger whine.

Don't get us wrong here - we've driven the Chevy SS and we've loved its hooligan side a lot, but in terms for bang for the buck, the 2015 Dodge Charger in R/T Scat Pack guise wins this match hands down.
